OUR START
WELS starts serving Tippecanoe County
Since the year 2000 our church body, Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, has served Tippecanoe County, worshiping in classrooms on Purdue’s campus and the Tippecanoe Library. Lamb of God Lutheran Church was founded here in July of 2012 and began reaching out to the residents of Tippecanoe County through a rented storefront on the southside of Lafayette.
In May 2021 we moved into our current permanent facility in West Lafayette. We are a group of people excited to do one thing well: to share with our neighbors that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29)… and that means you. You will see this in the way we gather around God’s message to us in worship and Bible study. You’ll see it as we go out into our amazing community and campus. But we don’t want you to just observe it. We want you to believe it, have it, and live it with us!
We continue to reevaluate our mission and ministry, listening to the people of our community, looking for needs to be met, and ways we can help those who are burdened and broken with the comforting promises of our living Savior, Jesus.
