Why do we take time to gather together around God’s Word? Can’t I just read my Bible at home for myself? Yes, you can. Our pastor and our members do that, too.
Jesus wants us to gather together around his Word, to listen to it, study it, meditate on it, ask it questions, because his Word is the most valuable treasure we could ever possess on this earth. His Word raises the dead, it gives life, it heals, it comforts, it gives hope, it encourages, it points us away from ourselves and to Jesus our Savior. When we do that together, we get to share in that treasure. That’s why we gather for Bible study.
