In this solemn ceremony all the worship articles and adornments are removed from the altar. This symbolizes the abandonment and humiliation of Jesus Christ. The liturgy ends in solemnity; the congregation hears no benediction. Rather, the Triduum’s services flow into one another as the congregation disperses in solemnity to reassemble for Good Friday.
